"Catching world music of the '80s and '90s on the wrong foot, not to mention its pop crossovers, Les Primitifs du Futur decided to do things the other way and feature some real values: the earthy odor of background roots. On World Musette, the band's third album, accordions, ouds, violins, banjos, and ukuleles can be heard in tune with the odd Chinese waltz or Musette foxtrot. This collective adventure led by Dominique Cravic brings musicians and connoisseur-collectors together around the same passion, with just one aim -- to restore the music's prestige."

Bolero, Guaracha, Mambo, Conga, Guajira & Rumba Cuba 1992 live recordings. "Four years before the musical adventure that led Ry Cooder in Havana to record the legendary Buena Vista Social Club, the French journalist, DJ, and producer François Jouffa had already recorded the most important singers and musicians of Santiago de Cuba, the country's second city and the capital of 'son.' The blending of African, European and American, but also Haitian, influences have made Santiago de Cuba's music the embodiment of Cuban-ness, the best of which is here handed down to posterity. Artists include Septeto Tipico Oriental and Conga Los Hoyos."

"Loulou Boislaville (1919-2001) was a musical legend from the island of Martinique, a French territory in the Caribbean. As part of his work on behalf of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, he led the Grands Ballets Martinique and the Groupe Folklorique Martiniquais. These two groups served a dual purpose of helping to preserve the island's rich traditional heritage as well as promoting tourism. Boislaville's long and rich musical career included numerous appearances in movies, films and television. This collection of recordings from 1967- 1973 features Boislaville leading the Groupe Folklorique Martiniquais in a selection of eighteen tracks of traditional Caribbean music."
