Silas & Snare return to the Kaizen fold with the three-tracker Pressure EP. Lead track "Pressure" is a continuation of Kaizen's recognizably weighty bass-inspired sound, carried by hefty kicks and screwed synths after a lengthy cosmic build-up. A downtempo influence runs through "Dreamscape", the floaty synths countered with skittering drums, while EP closer "Whistle Blower" is packed with industrial percussion and creepy bleeps made for those heads-down, screw-face moments on the dancefloor.

The Manchester producer exemplifies his range of sound with four weighty and moody tracks heavily focused on the dancefloor. Elements of dubstep run through the EP, especially on the title track with its floor-shaking bass rumbles, accompanied by skitterings of percussion and warped cries of "murder". In line with Kaizen's ethos, the rest of EP fuses elements of techno and grime to devastating effect, layered with spacey atmospherics and off-kilter rhythms. With love already shown by Pinch and Loefah, there's no doubt Walton's destructive club cuts will be getting plenty of minutes in the dance.

Madam X's Kaizen label kicks things off with a sturdy three tracker from Manchester heavyweight Biome. Shady and sinister, "Griddled" kicks off the EP with a razor-sharp dive-bombing effect, flirting between mutant UK bass, sturdy dubstep, and Middle-Eastern condiments. "Squelch" fuses rim shots, acid, and down-pitched vocals while "Bush" experiments with subtle percussions, flipping between UKG, bleep techno, and high-energy rollers.

Silas & Snare offer up a killer two track EP, with a straight sub-heavy attitude made for darkened clubs. "Biometric" dominates the dancefloor with its sharply executed, big-room laser-like bassline as "Patience" demonstrates the duo's excellent percussive arrangement. With rolling snares, ragged syncopations, and brushed textures, this solid two-tracker makes a fine club tool.

The third release on Madam X's burgeoning imprint comes from Manchester based Walton. The A-side features two fierce and stark club cuts, with "Tension" setting the tone for the murkiness inside. "Taiko" hinges on a groove that bounces and slams its way through the runtime with Mary Ann Hobbs a fan of "the dark, tribal textures". The pace is kept up with two more dense, atmospheric tracks. "Black Hole" employs a heavy set, feverish use of percussion and "Zen" acts as a more cinematic cut, almost like a weightless, demonic lullaby.
