Occhio Malocchio Prezzemolo E Finocchio is one of the classic cult comedies of the '80s, the most prolific decade in Italian cinema for that cinematic genre. The movie is split into two episodes, the first featuring the absolute star Lino Banfi trying to find a jinx, and the second starring singer/actor Johnny Dorelli playing an amateur magician. Beat Records' collaboration with Cabum Publishing and the subsequent discovery in their vault of the complete original recording sessions, totally unreleased until now, gave the label the opportunity for a new release dedicated to the music for cult Italian cinema that will entertain with its fresh and funny style. The soundtrack also features "Sheriff", the main titles of the movie Uno Sceriffo Extraterrestre... Poco Extra E Molto Terrestre (1979), which together with the complete soundtrack of Occhio Malocchio Prezzemolo E Finocchio reflects the contents of this CD, the latest in Beat Records' ongoing series dedicated to Guido & Maurizio De Angelis. Cabum and Beat Records present, almost forty years after the theatrical release of the film, the wonderful score by Guido & Maurizio De Angelis for the post-apocalyptic movie 2019 Dopo La Caduta Di New York, directed in 1983 by Sergio Martino and starring Michael Sopkiw, George Eastman, Anna Kanakis, and Valentine Monnier. In a post-apocalyptic future, there are two enemy factions -- the Euraks and the Federation -- fighting for dominance, and a solitary warrior is sent by the Federation to New York to retrieve the last fertile woman on Earth. Still enjoying an immense fan base, 2019 Dopo La Caduta Di New York is considered one of the best movies of its genre, which was very popular in the '80s and most certainly influenced by some of the cult-classic American movies that were so prolific at the time. The score by the De Angelis bros. was one of the most sought-after by their fans and film music lovers and represents, like Alien 2 Sulla Terra (DDJ 052CD/DDJ 005DLX-LP/DDJ 005DLXLTDLP). Cabum and Beat Records, thanks to the discovery of the original recording sessions in the archive of the brothers' label, are finally able to offer the complete score on CD. The cover features the original poster artwork painted by Renato Casaro, with mastering by Enrico De Gemini, graphic layout and 12-page booklet designed by Daniele De Gemini and liner notes by Manuel Cavenaghi (edited in English by Josh Mitchell). CD version includes 12-page booklet; edition of 500.

Almost 40 years after its theatrical debut, Cabum and Beat Records release for the first time ever the complete score for the movie Alien 2 Sulla Terra (1980, Ciro Ippolito), one of the most obscure films in the Italian horror/sci-fi realm, an apocryphal sequel to the iconic Alien by Ridley Scott (1979), released just a few months prior. One of the most sought-after soundtracks by Guido & Maurizio De Angelis fans, it is a prominent sample of the experimental style of the two composers that would feature prominently throughout the '80s. Their kaleidoscopic score begins with a country flavor and evolves with an astonishing electronic timber, sometimes morbid and obsessive. This release features nearly 80 minutes of music, complete with two cues from Uno Sceriffo Extraterrestre, Poco Extra Molto Terrestre (1979) that are used in the first part of the movie to build tension in a particular scene. This reissue was mastered by Enrico De Gemini thanks to the discovery of first-generation masters in Cabum's archives. Includes liner notes and graphic layout by Daniele De Gemini and English edit by Esteban Medaglia. CD version includes 12-page booklet.

L'Ultimo Squalo (The Great White) is a 1981 movie directed by Enzo G. Castellari, an Italian reply to the horror genre dedicated to shark movies, a trend that started a few years before with Spielberg's Jaws (1975). In this movie, there is an enormous white shark disrupting the summer of a coastal city in Georgia, in a crescendo of tension and horror that will end in a terrible 1-on-1 between the monster and Peter Benton (James Franciscus), protagonist of the movie and unwitting shark hunter. The music, composed by the De Angelis brothers, Guido and Maurizio, contributes to the obsessive and thrilling moments in which the shark appears, dramatic and melodic when the story becomes more emotional. The wonderful score is also connoted by music by the two composers sung by the vocalist Ywonne Wilkins, plus a cue taken from the OST Uno Sceriffo Extraterrestre Poco Extra Molto Terrestre that provides great variety to the listening experience. Aside from being released here for the first time in any format, the score of L'Ultimo Squalo marks the beginning of a tighter collaboration between Beat Records and Cabum. The two historical labels will give life to a series of releases dedicated to wonderful music produced through the iconic De Angelis bros' label, a series that will offer a righteous tribute to these wonderful scores, much loved and long-awaited, popular staples of the two composer's live concerts. Mastering by Enrico De Gemini. CD version includes a 12-page booklet; liner notes and graphic layout by Daniele De Gemini.

Finally, an important void in Guido & Maurizio De Angelis's discography is filled. Nearly 40 years since its theatrical release in 1982, one of the most long-awaited scores for the fans of the two Roman musicians is now available. Directed by Michele Lupo and starring Bud Spencer and Jerry Calà, the movie tells the story of an ex-pugilist who is given the chance to amend an old wrong he suffered while supporting the cause of a young athlete's gym. For this soundtrack, the two brothers build a score based on the theme "Fantasy", a very popular cue held dear by generations of cartoons lovers since this melody is also the Italian main title of "Galaxy", the famous cartoon that follows the adventures of two heroes onboard a space train. Another theme is the Italian answer to the Philadelphia Rocky fanfares composed by Bill Conti few years before, a cue that keeps an epic and sporty tone but more in line with the comedy aura of that movie. Also present are other cues synchronized with the movie's key scene, as variants of the two main themes or as alternate solutions. The CD is presented as a deluxe edition in the DDJ DLX series, mastered from the original elements and remastered by Enrico De Gemini and arranged in film sequence with the addition of some bonus tracks and outtakes. Includes a full-color, 12-page booklet with liner notes by Daniele De Gemini and original artwork painted by Renato Casaro, kindly granted by the artists.

Digitmovies present the original soundtrack for the mythical De Angelis brothers for the movie ... E Poi Lo Chiamarono Il Magnifico (Man of the East), originally released in 1972. After Franco Micalizzi had written the music for the first trinity movie and Guido and Maurizio De Angelis for its sequel, the two musician brothers were recruited again to write a new original score that was issued in those days on an LP with 12 tracks and also on a 45rpm single with two tracks. Digitmovies have searched for the original recording session master tapes which were recently rescued in very good condition and in full stereo: this gave the label the chance to add six bonus tracks not included in the original vinyl. A note for collectors and audiophiles: for this ultimate edition Digitmovies did not use the album master assembled in 1972, but they were able to recreate the original album mock-up's sequence/editing with all the takes taken directly from first generation stereo session tapes. And this new version has a really improved sound quality. The main theme is called "Don't Lose Control", a romantic-epic theme with country-pop flavor performed by Gene Roman and reprised as an instrumental version played by a large orchestra. The De Angelis brothers have succeeded in recreating the whole Western atmosphere by alternating classic Western-flavored themes with soft ones like the romantic love theme "Tema Di Candida" (Jesus Come To My Heart), a gospel with sacred flavor vocalized by the Nora Orlandi choir. Directed in 1972 by E.B. Clucher (real name Enzo Barboni) and starring Terence Hill, Gregory Walcott, Yanti Somer, Dominic Barto, Enzo Fiermonte, and Riccardo Pizzuti. The young Viscount Sir Thomas Moore (Hill), a polite English guy who goes to America to take possession of the inheritance left over from his father. He finds himself in the Wild West and falls in love with the young daughter of a landowner who is already courted by another cowboy. Three friends of the deceased parent shall teach him to shoot so that he can compete with his rival in a duel for the beloved one.

Digitmovies presents the soundtrack by brothers Guido & Maurizio De Angelis for the movie Zorro (1974). At that time a 45 rpm single was issued in Italy and in Japan, with the songs "Zorro Is Back" and "To You Mi Chica", and a vinyl album with twelve selections was issued in France, Germany and Japan and later reissued with the same contents by C.A.M. on CD in 1991. For this CD, Digitmovies uses the first generation stereo master tapes of the original recording session allowing for almost forty extra minutes of material. The De Angelis brothers have written a cheerful main theme for the masked avenger Zorro called "Zorro Is Back", introduced in the version performed by Oliver Onions in "Titoli Di Testa" and reprised in instrumental form. This motif is alternated with the love theme "To You Mi Chica" for solo guitar, orchestra, and vocal with dramatic symphonic music with Latin flavor for the heroic actions of Zorro. The bonus material contains exciting reprises of the album versions of "Zorro Is Back", "To You Mi Chica" and the dramatic background themes among which a remarkable rarity can be found: the off-vocal take of the main theme song, that is to say "karaoke" with Zorro! Edition of 300.

2012 release. Digitmovies release for the very first time on CD Guido and Maurizio De Angelis's complete original soundtrack, in full stere, for the movie comedy Il Sindacalista (aka "The Labor Organizer"). Directed in 1972 by Luciano Salce and starring Lando Buzzanca, Dominique Boschero, Renzo Montagnani, Paola Pitagora, Isabella Biagini, Gino Santercole, Fernando Cerulli, Piero Vida, Gastone Pescucci, Fortunato Arena, and Enzo Sancrotti. Saverio Ravizzi (Buzzanca), a Sicilian emigrated to the north, is a worker in the area of Bergamo. By taking care of his workmates' interests, he succeeds in getting the attention of his leader (Montagnani) and becomes a labor organizer. For Saverio the troubles begin when the rumor goes around that the factory is going to be sold so that his friends start to turn their backs on him and treat him as someone who has been corrupted by the owners. Digitmovies succeeded in locating the master tapes of the original session in full stereo and also in very good condition. The label also located an album mock-up (here tracks 1-11) prepared at the time of the film's release, but which never saw the light on the market then. Besides that material Digitmovies have added some extra tracks. The cool De Angelis brothers have written a hymn for the character of Saverio that is introduced during the main titles, a cheerful march for orchestra and male choir and then reprised with "ghostly voices" with echo and reverb effects, a vocal with words which appears later. The main theme is reprised again in a popular arrangement with folk flavor, in a sweet version performed by recorder, and gets alternated with music in a more "police" mode and lounge music. A delightful OST which deserved to be rescued and preserved for the joy of the fans of the De Angelis brothers around the world.

Digitmovies presents for the first time on CD Guido and Maurizio De Angelis's original soundtrack, in full stereo, for the movie L'Arbitro (aka "Football Crazy"). Directed in 1974 by Luigi Filippo D'Amico and starring Lando Buzzanca, Joan Collins, Gabriella Pallotta, Massimo Mollica, Marisa Solinas, Nello Pazzafini, Ignazio Leone, Dino Curcio, Daniele Vargas, Umberto D'Orsi, Gianfranco Barra, Giovanni Rosselli, and Alvaro Vitali. The Sicilian football referee Carmelo Lo Cascio (Buzzanca) lives with his wife and son in Acireale (a character inspired by Concetto Lo Bello), where he wants to achieve success and to become an international referee. But he must also satisfy the sexual appetites of his wife (Pallotta) and of Elena (Collins), a very demanding lover. To improve his professional performances, Lo Cascio begins to take amphetamines in a more and more massive way, to the point of going crazy: During an international football match (the final scene of the film) he refuses to whistle the end of the match and he is taken away by the police. At the time, RCA released a 45rpm single with the themes "Miss Elena" and "(I'm) Football Crazy" (played by Giorgio Chinaglia), but in the RCA archives, in addition to the stereo master tapes of the original recording session, Digitmovies have made a great discovery: an album mock-up with ten selections that never saw the light of day in 1974, and moreover they also found about 25 minutes of alternate material. The De Angelis brothers have written, arranged, and conducted a really nice OST that opens with the love theme "Miss Elena" in a pastoral version, which gets reprised in a pop version, then alternated with funny music in a Sicilian mood, lounge music as in a night club, an African rock fast, and a slow version and a bossa nova version. The song "(I'm) Football Crazy" is the main theme song of the OST: we get an instrumental take, a vocal take film version, a vocal take with different ending, a vocal take mixed for the 45rpm single, and the karaoke version.

2011 release. Digitmovies release on CD for the first time Guido and Maurizio De Angelis's full stereo complete original soundtrack for La Moglie Di Mio Padre (aka "Confessions Of A Frustated Housewife"). Directed in 1976 by Andrea Bianchi and starring Carroll Baker, Adolfo Celi, Jenny Tamburi, Cesare Barro, Luigi Pistilli, Femi Benussi, and Gabriella Giorgelli. For his remarriage Antonio Lendini (Celi), a rich industrialist from Northern Italy, has married Laura (Baker), a very beautiful and young woman. When Claudio (Barro), the son of the businessman, returns, a short-spanned relationship between the young man and the stepmother is born which will suffice for the woman to acquire the knowledge of her own personality and rights. When Claudio leaves, Laura goes away. The husband searches for her and implores her to come back to him, but she refuses. Antonio does not accept the prospect of remaining alone forever and he kills her while the woman is skiing on a mountain. This CD represents a music rarity for all the fans of the mythic Guido and Maurizio De Angelis considering the fact that, whereas in Germany in 1976 only one track called "Tema Di Laura" was printed as side B of the 45rpm single (side B contained "Orzowei"), thanks to the stereo master tapes of the original recording session Digitmovies now assemble all of this music. The authors have composed an OST where a recurring romantic waltz-like motif for the female protagonist is introduced in the "Titoli Di Testa" with Beguine arrangement and then reprised in experimental form. It gets more airy and fast with accordion and is alternated with melancholic passages of solo piano, with dancefloor music for the night club scene and noir motifs with a giallo flavor.

2010 release. Digitmovies continues to release the scores of the brothers Guido and Maurizio De Angelis by issuing on CD for the first time the complete and in full stereo scores from two funny late '70s comedy movies: Tre Tigri Contro Tre Tigri (aka "Three Tigers Against Three Tigers") directed in 1977 by Sergio Corbucci and Steno (Stefano Vanzina) and Agenzia Riccardo Finzi... Praticamente Detective (Aka "The Finzi Detective Agency") directed in 1979 by Bruno Corbucci Cinevox Record had issued a 45rpm single (MDF 114) from Tre Tigri and a 45rpm single from Agenzia Riccardo Finzi. Originating from the stereo mastertapes archived at Cinevox, Digitmovies CD contains everything recorded for both movies. For Tre Tigri the De Angelis brothers wrote pleasant folkloristic music like a dancefloor tango for saxophone, a folkloristic waltz, a classic kind version of the main theme, and other instrumental variations, suspense music with an Afro sound, rhythmical and fast rock music for a chase scene, an exotic Afro-jazz motif with a Brubeck style, rhythmical orchestral music with an epic flavor. For Agenzia Riccardo Finzi the De Angelis brothers composed a funny main theme for the detective with a '60s dancefloor style and reused it with variations in the OST and alternated it with sexy music, electronic suspense music, a romantic-burlesque motif, and a wild theme with a disco style for a chase scene. A note for the most demanding and insatiable audiophiles: Some tracks from Agenzia Riccardo Finzi have a barely perceptible electronic background noise in the high frequencies, but which cannot be eliminated due the fact that this defect is present in the only DAT master available at Cinevox. Two deserving OSTs rescued and preserved on CD.

2014 release. Digitmovies releases, for the first time on CD, Guido and Maurizio De Angelis's original soundtrack for the comedy film Peccati In Famiglia ("Scandal In The Family"). The De Angelis brothers composed various soundtracks for the Italian sex comedies of the '70s. For Peccati In Famiglia, Beat Records released an EP with four tracks in 1975: "Country Life", "Milo", "Rosina", and "Crazy Baby". The last two were sung by Maria Teresa with the Mescaleros. Digitmovies' CD contains all the music recorded at the time from the original master tapes. Directed in 1975 by Bruno Gaburro, the film starred Renzo Montagnani, Michele Placido, Simonetta Stefanelli, Jenny Tamburi, Juliette Mayniel, Gastone Pescucci, and Laura De Marchi. The industrialist Carlo and his wife Piera and daughter Francesca spend their vacation together in their villa in Piacentino. Upon his arrival, Carlo discovers a new cook has been hired, the young Doris who doesn't wait one second before flattering and trying to seduce him. A few days later Milo arrives, the son of one of Carlo's brothers. Milo wins over Francesca and then seduces Doris and even enters in good graces with Piera. Now that Milo is sure the three women are completely devoted to him, he pushes Carlo to excessively exert himself with the cook, causing him to have a heart attack. Milo inherits everything. Bruno Gaburro began his career as a director in 1969 with the film Ecce Homo. He then specialized in erotic comedy, directing Peccati In Famiglia in 1975 and Il Letto In Piazza ("Sex Diary") in 1976. Both films tell the story of erotic incidents happening inside a nuclear family. In the 1980s the director decided to dedicate himself to more racy erotic films such as Malombra, Maladonna, and Lola's Secret ("Il Peccato Di Lola"). He also made his only detective-story film with Fashion Crimes ("La Morte È Di Moda") following on the heels of the trendy detective stories like Nothing Underneath ("Sotto Il Vestito Niente") by Vanzina. At the beginning of the '90s he directed two films about sexy vacationers Abbronzatissimi and Abbronzatissimi 2 - One Year Later.

2014 release. Digitmovies present on CD, for the first time, complete and in full stereo, Maurizio and Guido De Angelis's original soundtrack for the movie Trastevere. Directed in 1971 by Fausto Tozzi and starring Nino Manfredi, Ottavia Piccolo, Rosanna Schiaffino, Vittorio Caprioli, Vittorio De Sica, Mickey Fox, Ronald Kerry Pennington, Leopoldo Trieste, Milena Vukotic, and Gigi Ballista. An elderly opera singer loses his dog in the popular Roman district of Trastevere. The creature, wandering the alleys and squares and passing into the hands of its provisional masters, is "witness" to a series of episodes that affect the life of the neighborhood. A shabby old woman is forced by her family of smugglers to give herself up to the police on their behalf. A former agent of the narcotics squad, with the drug habit, is arrested after being denounced by an unrequited lover. The inconsolable widower of a prostitute - who supplies comfort items as a living to streetwalkers -- stubbornly continues the search for the man who killed his wife. A depraved intellectual favors the coupling of his wife with a young butcher. A "hippie" American, after an abnormal relationship with a mature aristocrat, kills himself. An old usurer dies of heart failure during lunch, after a pilgrimage to the Santuario del Divino Amore ("Shrine of Divine Love"). At that time, IT Discs released a 33rpm with eleven selections and a 45rpm with the tracks "Trastevere" sung by Nino Manfredi and the instrumental "Kerry." For Digitmovies' CD, in addition to the stereo master tapes of the album of 1971 they've also had access to the master, in stereo, of the original recording session, which allowed them to use every note recorded at that time. The OST is based on the main topic of popular taste "Trastevere", introduced in the title track by the voice of Nino Manfredi and reprised in instrumental version. This exciting melody is alternated with other themes composed for the other characters in the film, such as "Grandma's Dance" folk-flavored, but with modern arrangements and Indian music on the sitar. For Kerry, the De Angelis brothers wrote a country tune, but the negative events that disrupt the life of this character are highlighted by dramatic and rock-flavored orchestral passages. Digitmovies include, among the various extras, a version with a different ending of "Grandma's Dance" and a rare alternative take of the vocal by Nino Manfredi.

Digitmovies present the Guido and Maurizio De Angelis's original motion picture soundtrack for the movie La Tigre È Ancora Viva: Sandokan Alla Riscossa! ("The Tiger Is Still Alive: Sandokan To The Rescue"). At the time of release, a 45rpm single was issued (RCA BB 6135) featuring two tracks, for this LP Digitmovies have used the stereo master tapes found in the RCA vaults. After a slow and solemn strings introduction of the "Sandokan Theme", the new main theme is presented, for big orchestra and of epic flavor, called "Ritorno A Mompracem". This theme is reprised with several variations: with mandola and strings, slow and mystic, with flute, mandola, and bells, and in vocal version. The score is also enriched with very rhythmic action music, and of ethnic flavor. The Sandokan theme is reprised with an atonal way with reverberated harps. Although a digital restoration occurred some audio anomalies (pre-existing on the original sources) remain. Mompracem villagers are scared and left hungry by the ferocious Sultan Abdullah, a sovereign cowardly and cruel, serving the British. Jamilah, a young woman, returns to Mompracem to call the old "tigers" to battle, but is hunted by the sultan's guards and is about to be killed, but she was saved by the Greek adventurer Teotokris. The latter decides to help her, making a long journey to India in search of Sandokan, taking shelter there to convince him to resume his fight against the British.
