Beat Records present on CD Da Uomo A Uomo (aka "Death Rides a Horse"), a Western film directed in 1967 by Giulio Petroni, with a screenplay by Luciano Vincenzoni, photography by Carlo Carlini, editing by Eraldo Da Roma, music by Ennio Morricone and a cast including Lee Van Cleef, John Phillip Law, Luigi Pistilli, Anthony Dawson, Mario Brega, Josรฉ Torres. Ennio Morricone perfectly managed to describe all the emotions of Bill's revenge against those who massacred his family by creating a recurring main theme in an aggressive ride for guitars and rhythm section, complete with violent sounds and the accompaniment of the choir of Cantori Moderni, which plays a very important role in this soundtrack. This motif is alternated with suspense music almost bordering a Giallo sound, while the choir returns in a sacred theme, a gospel-like tune with beat arrangement used often throughout the soundtrack and a melancholic Latin flamenco with castanets and chorus. Representing one of Ennio Morricone's most iconic scores for the Western genre, this new CD reissue incorporates the mono masters from the original recording sessions as well as the surviving stereo mixes. Mastering and liner notes by Claudio Fuiano, graphic layout by Daniele De Gemini. Includes 12-page booklet.

Beat Records is pleased to reissue on double-CD Tutti Dentro (aka "Ab in den Knast" and "Everybody in Jail") a comedy directed in 1984 by Alberto Sordi, with a screenplay by Alberto Sordi and Rodolfo Sonego, photography by Sergio D'Offizi, editing by Tatiana Casini Morigi, music score by Piero Piccioni and production by Augusto Caminito for Scena Film. The cast includes Alberto Sordi, Joe Pesci, Dalila Di Lazzaro, Armando Francioli, Giuseppe Mannajuolo, Giorgia Moll, Gianni Rizzo, Franco Scandurra, Marisa Solinas, Tino Bianchi, Giordano Falzoni, and Carlo Deni. In 1984, General Music released a 33RPM (GM 30714) assembled by the composer containing twelve selections in stereo. Maestro Piccioni chose dance pieces alternating with romantic themes, plus three different versions of the song "By And By", featuring the voice of Gloria Paul. With great pleasure, Beat Records reissue the original vinyl album program for the first time on CD, but there's more. Having access to the stereo masters of the recording session, the label discovered 26 unreleased tracks, resulting in this fabulous soundtrack presentation on a double-CD set. The listener will thus be able to appreciate orchestral romantic themes, instrumental versions of "By And By", dance pieces and alternate versions of the cues on the original album. At the end of disc two, a special treat for fans of the beloved Maestro Piccioni: the composer plays the main theme on the piano, introducing it with his own voice. Mastering and liner notes by Claudio Fuiano, graphic layout by Daniele De Gemini. Includes 12-page booklet.

La Ragazza Di Trieste (aka "The Girl from Trieste" - "La fille de Trieste") is a drama film directed in 1982 by Pasquale Festa Campanile starring Ornella Muti, Ben Gazzara, Jean-Claude Brialy, Mimsy Farmer, Andrรฉa Ferrรฉol, and William Berger. At the time, a 33rpm (New Polaris, POL / BP 733) was printed in Italy and reissued in Switzerland by Milan (A CH 002). Unfortunately, the album master was lost, but it was possible to reassemble it using the first-generation stereo masters of the original session. Apart from some tracks that were identical to those from the session, we also had to edit most of the pieces that Riz Ortolani had assembled by editing small takes together. Ultimately, the ten tracks from the vinyl were rescued in excellent stereo sound, and in the session masters, Beat Records discovered twelve unreleased tracks that bring this CD set to a total duration of just around 52 minutes. This soundtrack once again highlights the whole romantic side of Riz Ortolani, certainly one of the greatest melodists in the world. Alas, another CD joins Ortolani's ever-growing discography. Mastering and liner notes by Claudio Fuiano; graphic layout by Daniele De Gemini. 12-page booklet.

50 years ago, Franco and Luciana De Gemini had recently moved to Rome, both looking for their place in the world. Through his collaborations with many great maestros of the period and his involvement with the orchestras, Franco got to know many people including Fulvio Corradini and Benito Costa (the former an administrator of prestigious record catalogs, the second a trusted friend). In fact, they had already caught wind of a small record label called Beat Records Company, founded on May 12, 1966, but the two had no time to devote to the endeavor so they trusted its administration to Franco De Gemini by actively involving him as a partner. It was on March 23, 1968, that they set foot in that office on Viale Medaglie D'oro. Beat had published 58 tracks, had 16,500 Liras in cash and a tax fine of 140,000 liras for failure to report. That was the day that Franco and Luciana began their adventure, which would last for him until July 20, 2013, and for her until March 3, 2016. It was an intense fifty years, always with one foot on an airplane, in a smoke-filled recording studio, in front of a Moviola viewing the scrolling images of film or around a table with incredible characters, to talk, create music and art, or simply to enjoy life. That little two-year-old son that was once picked up and held by Franco and Luciana is now a man of 50, a man with whom generations of film and music fans have been able to cultivate their passions, served and revered by the tireless work of this incredible couple. Having reached this important landmark in time, with over half a century of history behind the label, they decided to revive five significant favorites from their musical catalog and replicate them in their original format. The fifth appointment of this revival is with one of our scores unreleased on vinyl, Alla Ricerca Del Piacere by Teo Usuelli, a score a movie featuring the divine Barbara Bouchet, a beautiful icon beloved on both sides of the ocean. The music -- iconic as well, and among the most appreciated in Beat Records' catalog -- has been included on Beat at Cinecittร albums and used by the Cohen Brothers, who included "Piacere sequence, M36" in The Big Lebowski (1998). 180 gram vinyl; printed inner sleeve; external obi.

In 2019, Francesco de Masi's music has been given important tributes, among which being chosen for Quentin Tarantino's movie, Once Upon A Time In Hollywood, making available once again a score which has been out of stock for some time, Il Segno Del Coyote. The movie was released in 1963 and directed by Mario Caiano, another artist very dear to Beat Records and the subject of a video included on the label's CD release of the wonderful score for Napoli Spara, created by Filippo de Masi and Daniele De Gemini, who filmed and interviewed the aging director at his mansion. The music by Maestro de Masi, already available on a double-bill with the score of C'e' Sartana, Vendi La Pistola E Comprati La Bara!, represents the first Italian score for a Western movie, still without the trademarks that would define the genre from the following year. Instead, the music composed by the maestro was a wink to the Hollywood productions of the day, written in his typical symphonic style. Now available integrally in Beat Records' classic CDCR series featuring a lot of unreleased music. Graphic layout by Daniele De Gemini. Mastering by Enrico De Gemini. Liner notes by Filippo de Masi and English edit by Josh Mitchell. Includes 12-page booklet.

Directed by Sergio Garrone, Django Il Bastardo (1969) is considered by critics to be one of his best films. Here is one of the most iconic Spaghetti Western characters, Django, in one of his final movies, this time played by Anthony Steffen. It's not the first time Vasco Vassil Kojucharov (a maestro very dear to the Beat Records publishing group) scored this character. Thanks to the Nomus association, archivist of the Kojucharov fund, the label retrieved four master tapes and many documents from the recording session for this soundtrack, which -- coming as no surprise, being a representative example of its genre -- reveals all of the musical skills of the maestro. His immensely creative vein is evident from the main titles, which -- performed with typical instrumentation for Italian Western movies -- winks an eye to the spy genre. A wonderful unreleased score, finally available for your listening pleasure. Mastering by Enrico De Gemini. Graphic design by Daniele De Gemini. Liner notes by Alessandro Bratus (English-language translation edited by Josh Mitchell). Jewel case; 12-pages booklet.

(Holocaust 2000) is a 1977 horror film directed by Alberto De Martino featuring a stellar cast that saw Kirk Douglas in the role of Robert Caine, a wealthy industrialist faced with the danger of a nuclear disaster planned by none other than the antichrist himself. Engaged in the design of a nuclear power plant in the Third World, Caine's opponents begin to disappear one by one, but soon the plot will take an unexpected turn. Ennio Morricone, two-time Oscar winner (first for his career and then for the soundtrack of Quentin Tarantino's The Hateful Eight), composed a score dominated by poignant themes and orchestrations devoid of cloying sentimentality that emerge in the opening credits amidst expansive collisions of sound that characterize the composer's experimental genius with a mellifluous flute and a female choir producing a dramatic and dazzling tension, giving further proof of the talent of this extraordinary musician in understanding cinematic signals and translating them into musical tapestries. The Chosen (Holocaust 2000) is now available in this ultimate edition, complete with unreleased material, and to distinguish it from prior releases that are now out of print, the CD is in the historic CDCR series (Compact Disc Collector Release) with original artwork by Alessio Iannuzzi, mastering by Enrico De Gemini, and liner notes by Fabio Babini. 12-page booklet.

Quando Gli Uomini Armarono La Clava E... Con Le Donne Fecero Din-Don (aka "When Women Played Ding-Dong") is a 1971 movie, directed by Bruno Corbucci. In prehistoric times, two tribes -- the Cavemen, who live on the mainland, and the Aquamanni, who live on stilts -- are almost always fighting with each other. During a period of peace, the young Ari, head of the Cavemen, wins, in battle with the Acquamanni, one of their virgins, Listra, with whom, however, he barely has time to entertain himself since immediately a new one contention breaks out between the two tribes. Although the fake-prehistoric setting and the title that refers to the two Pasquale Festa Campanile films set to music by Ennio Morricone and Bruno Nicolai, this Corbucci film has nothing to do with those productions. Giancarlo Chiaramello, author of several scores for cinema and television has composed a pleasant score based on the recurring main theme "Troglomen" performed in the main titles by the Turin-based progressive rock band Gli Aluminogeni which derives from the surname of the leader and singer, Patrizio Alluminio. This song was printed in stereo on the A side of the single. For the first time ever, Beat Records release all the background music score taken from the master in mono of the original session kept in the Beat Record archives and the song of the single in stereo with a total duration of almost 76 minutes (including takes not used in the film). Funny themes alternate with other rhythmic ones with distorted electric guitars with a rock -- beat flavor for battle scenes, with a recurring love theme with a lounge flavor, with ethnic atmospheres. The chorus of Nora Orlandi performs in numerous tracks of this fun soundtrack that CFS and BEAT have absolutely wanted to restore and preserve on CD. Co-produced by Claudio Fuiano and Daniele De Gemini for CFSoundtracks and Beat Records editing/mastering by Enrico De Gemini and Claudio Fuiano. Graphic design by Claudio Fuiano and Daniele De Gemini. 12-page booklet.

Occhio Malocchio Prezzemolo E Finocchio is one of the classic cult comedies of the '80s, the most prolific decade in Italian cinema for that cinematic genre. The movie is split into two episodes, the first featuring the absolute star Lino Banfi trying to find a jinx, and the second starring singer/actor Johnny Dorelli playing an amateur magician. Beat Records' collaboration with Cabum Publishing and the subsequent discovery in their vault of the complete original recording sessions, totally unreleased until now, gave the label the opportunity for a new release dedicated to the music for cult Italian cinema that will entertain with its fresh and funny style. The soundtrack also features "Sheriff", the main titles of the movie Uno Sceriffo Extraterrestre... Il Fischio Al Naso (aka "The Seventh Floor") is a dramatic movie directed in 1967 by Ugo Tognazzi. Industrialist Giuseppe Inzerna, afflicted by an annoying hissing sound in his nasal passageway, is employed at the very modern Salus Bank and subjected to endless examinations, analyzations and treatments. The whistle in his nose eventually goes away, but other symptoms appear in its place. Inzerna refuses to consider himself sick, yet is afraid to go home, despite the advice of the doctors who employ various excuses to place him on higher floors as his illnesses multiply, each floor representing the next stage of the developing malady. Inzerna becomes increasingly alone and defenseless against his family, who plot and scheme behind his back until the tragic ending. Teo Usuelli (1920-2009) was a prolific composer of about forty soundtracks between 1950 and 1976 as well as important songs in the late '50s including "Meravigliose labbra," performed in 1959 by Johnny Dorelli. He was also an important researcher in the field of medieval and Renaissance music (transcribing popular and choral songs in a modern key) and teacher of composition at the Conservatories of Bologna, L'Aquila and Trento. In 1959, he met director Marco Ferreri, with whom he made an important artistic partnership by composing the music for famous films such as L'ape regina, La donna scimmia, Marcia nuziale, and Dillinger รจ morto. Here Beat Records present, for the first time on CD, Usuelli's soundtrack for Il Fischio Al Naso, assembled using the mono master tapes of the recording session, archived at Universal Music Publishing Ricordi. At the time, the Italian RCA released only a single (PM 3401) containing "La Conta", with lyrics by Tognazzi himself, performed by the beat band Le Pecore Nere, which can be heard in the opening credits and is reprised for the finale. The author reprises the main theme with fabulous baroque performances for orchestra, sometimes adding beat rhythms with electric guitars and a version with polyphonic choir alternated with lounge music. Usuelli composed a poignant requiem for the love scenes between the protagonist Giuseppe and his lover Giovanna which the composer also arranges in a waltz version with a beat flavor for the party scene organized by the patients of the clinic. Editing/mastering and liner notes by Claudio Fuiano. Graphic design by Daniele De Gemini. Includes 12-page booklet.

Thanks to the partnership between Roman labels and distributors Cometa Edizioni Musicali, Beat Records, and Four Flies Records, one of the most iconic and essential works by Piero Umiliani has finally emerged from the archives: La Schiava Io Ce L'Ho e Tu No. The movie was directed by Giorgio Capitani starring Lando Buzzanca and Chaterine Spaak, its soundtrack recorded at Ortophonic Studios in Rome in September of 1973. Widely regarded as one of the most sought-after productions by the famous Italian composer, the original LP is now considered a holy grail among the most serious record collectors worldwide. Perhaps the main reason for this is the magnificent quality of the compositions and arrangements, written by the maestro himself, who reaches one of his compositional peaks with this score. His music is the quintessential Italian sound for '70s sophisticated comedy, its unmistakable flavor now carved into our collective imagination, blending samba-bossa rhythms, funk guitars, dynamic and airy strings, and most of all, those brilliant choirs, always functional in relation to the movie's mood (performed here by the omnipresent Cantori Moderni di Alessandroni in a leading role). Together with the sensual vocalisms of Edda Dell'Orso, they truly represent the identity of an entire genre. The release of this CD not only brings to light one of the freshest and most topical soundtracks of Piero Umiliani's career, but the original master tapes feature the complete soundtrack sessions stored in the Cometa archives. That's why we are able to present here, in addition to the LP's original track listing, 23 tracks never before released in any format, revealing Umiliani's compositional eclecticism and his ability to transition effortlessly from jazz to funk, easy listening to symphony. Personal memories by Umiliani's daughters enrich this edition through their contributions to the liner notes, offering a familiar and intimate perspective about the composer's private life. 12-page booklet; edition of 500.

L'agnese Va A Morire is one of the most successful collaborations between director Giuliano Montaldo and composer Ennio Morricone. The composer, avails himself of exceptional soloists such as De Gemini on harmonica, Carnini on organ, Valdambrini on flugelhorn, Enrico Pierannunzi on piano, and the dramatic vocals of Clara Murtas to create the appropriate atmosphere to describe life turned upside-down by Nazism during WWII, during the eight months preceding the liberation of Italy from German occupiers. Morricone alternates sacral moments with dissonance to describe this dark period of Italian history. Beat Records used a first-generation stereo master prepared in 1977 for a 33rpm that was never released, now fully restored for an exceptional listening experience. The CD is released in the classic CDCR series with mastering by Daniel Winkler and Claudio Fuiano. Liner notes by Patrick Bouster. Graphic design by Daniele De Gemini, featuring the original poster art by Renato Casaro on the cover. Jewel case; 12-page booklet.

Beat Records' collaboration with Cabum Publishing and the subsequent discovery in their vault of the complete original recording sessions, totally unreleased until now, gave us the opportunity for a new release dedicated to the music for cult Italian cinema that will entertain us with its fresh and funny style. The soundtrack also features "Sheriff", the main titles of the movie Uno Sceriffo Extraterrestre... Poco Extra E Molto Terrestre, which together with the main titles of Occhio Malocchio Prezzemolo E Finocchio reflects the content of the 7-inch vinyl, highly collectible, with Enzo Sciotti's original artwork for Occhio Malocchio Prezzemolo E Finocchio on the front cover and Renato Casaro's original artwork for Uno Sceriffo Extraterrestre... Poco Extra E Molto Terrestre on the back. The 45rpm also features a special edition for collectors, numbered. Mastered by Enrico De Gemini with graphic layout by Daniele De Gemini. 45rpm; numbered print; edition of 400.

Beat Records kick off 2020 with the fifth release in the L'uomo dell'armonica series, dedicated to the historical leader and founder of Beat Records Company Publishing Group, harmonica player Franco De Gemini. Franco passed away in July 2013, leaving an enormous void, but he keeps on living through immortal musical performances that connoted his long career. This time Beat Records selected his collaborations with maestro Ennio Morricone, with whom he'd worked many times as soloist, but most notably Once Upon A Time In The West (Sergio Leone, 1968). A cool selection for highlighting the stylistic measure of the evolution both for the composer and the performer, passing through film music milestones, some of which have long since gone missing from the market. Including Per Per Un Pugno Di Dollari (A Fistful of Dollars, 1967), Il Buono, Il Brutto, Il Cattivo (The Goods, the Bad and the Ugly, 1967), C'Era Una Volta Il West (Once Upon A Time In The West, 1968), Faccia A Faccia (Face to Face, 1967), Sette Donne Per I MacGregor (1968), L'alibi (1969), and many more, the scores in which the contribution of the harmonica player to the wonderful Maestro's music was iconic. By the end of the track list, Beat Records offer again the ghost track released through our 50th year Once Upon A Time In The West edition featuring the studio sound tests by Franco De Gemini during the recording session of that soundtrack. Franco De Gemini plays Ennio Morricone, original recordings from the motion picture soundtracks. Graphic layout and liner notes by Daniele De Gemini. Mastering by Claudio Fuiano and Daniel Winkler. Slim jewel case with an external obi.

Lo Chiamavano Bulldozer is a movie that was directed by Michele Lupo in 1978 that tells the story of an ex-football player (Bud Spencer) turned sailor, who after some misadventures ends up training a team of ragtag young players, far from real sportsmen. The match against Sergeant Kempfer's team, from a nearby military base, is approaching soon, and Bulldozer will have to give his all to win it. Lo Chiamavano Bulldozer is one of the most beloved scores by Guido & Maurizio De Angelis fans, dominated by the iconic theme dedicated to great Bud Spencer. This edition marks the collaboration between the two composers' label, Cabum and Beat Records, continuing a series that aims to shed new light upon the two maestros' catalog. It's a release that can't be missed by lovers of film music and all fans of this soundtrack who have been waiting years for this release. Part of the DDJ DLX series. Iconic poster art by Renato Casaro on the cover, graphic layout and liner notes by Daniele De Gemini and English edit by Josh Mitchell. Mastering by Enrico De Gemini. CD version includes 12-page booklet.
