(Holocaust 2000) is a 1977 horror film directed by Alberto De Martino featuring a stellar cast that saw Kirk Douglas in the role of Robert Caine, a wealthy industrialist faced with the danger of a nuclear disaster planned by none other than the antichrist himself. Engaged in the design of a nuclear power plant in the Third World, Caine's opponents begin to disappear one by one, but soon the plot will take an unexpected turn. Ennio Morricone, two-time Oscar winner (first for his career and then for the soundtrack of Quentin Tarantino's The Hateful Eight), composed a score dominated by poignant themes and orchestrations devoid of cloying sentimentality that emerge in the opening credits amidst expansive collisions of sound that characterize the composer's experimental genius with a mellifluous flute and a female choir producing a dramatic and dazzling tension, giving further proof of the talent of this extraordinary musician in understanding cinematic signals and translating them into musical tapestries. The Chosen (Holocaust 2000) is now available in this ultimate edition, complete with unreleased material, and to distinguish it from prior releases that are now out of print, the CD is in the historic CDCR series (Compact Disc Collector Release) with original artwork by Alessio Iannuzzi, mastering by Enrico De Gemini, and liner notes by Fabio Babini. 12-page booklet.

2014 release; warehouse find of last copies. Female: A Musical Journey into the World of Women. This project was born of a very simple idea; to create a sonic journey into the world of women. By selecting songs from film music by the great Ennio Morricone Black Cat Records seek to give an unusual soundtrack, not inspired by a film but instead by the muse of all muses: The Women. Whose sounds could better describe this world of music than Ennio Morricone's? Who better than the maestro can really describe all the highlights of a day, a season, or a woman's life? From the most dramatic moments to the happiest, the most sensual, seductive, sensitive and tough ones at the same time. Morricone's emotional strength manages to convey strong vibrations with very few notes, just like the surreptitious glance from a woman in love that flashes between two people. When you listen to the song "Poetry Of A Woman" you can feel this vibe. The sensuality of the music of "Scena d'Amore" from the movie Crescete e Moltiplicatevi is striking. It evokes a mood quite independent of the scene in the movie; indeed, it gives your imagination the freedom to dream of sexy and sophisticated pictures. Edda Dell'Orso's voice is the second great personality of this record. On each track her presence (which is in almost all of them) leads you into this mood, almost whispering: in the sea, in bed, in the disco, at a cocktail party or on the verge of a nervous breakdown. Thus, through these notes, you will be taken by the hand into this journey with eros, passion, love, tragedy, and fantasy.

L'agnese Va A Morire is one of the most successful collaborations between director Giuliano Montaldo and composer Ennio Morricone. The composer, avails himself of exceptional soloists such as De Gemini on harmonica, Carnini on organ, Valdambrini on flugelhorn, Enrico Pierannunzi on piano, and the dramatic vocals of Clara Murtas to create the appropriate atmosphere to describe life turned upside-down by Nazism during WWII, during the eight months preceding the liberation of Italy from German occupiers. Morricone alternates sacral moments with dissonance to describe this dark period of Italian history. Beat Records used a first-generation stereo master prepared in 1977 for a 33rpm that was never released, now fully restored for an exceptional listening experience. The CD is released in the classic CDCR series with mastering by Daniel Winkler and Claudio Fuiano. Liner notes by Patrick Bouster. Graphic design by Daniele De Gemini, featuring the original poster art by Renato Casaro on the cover. Jewel case; 12-page booklet.

"Psycho is the second in a series of five double vinyl releases that bring together some of Ennio Morricone's greatest soundtrack music. Each collection centers on a different movie genre, together they allow the listener to rediscover the unmatched genius of the greatest movie composer of all time. The Maestro. This collection is dedicated to Morricone's work with Italian directors spanning the late 1960s up to the 1980s. These scores accompany some darkly dramatic films, some veering into the realms of horror. The music highlights the psychological tension within the films and contrasts with his work in the USA during the same era. This is Morricone where he feels truly at home, working with the nuances and drama of the Italian psyche as laid bare by Italian filmmakers. Starting 70 years ago as an arranger for the piece Mamma Bianca, Ennio Morricone is the emperor of scores and soundtracks. Morricone has always been a huge influence for the likes of Hans Zimmer, Danger Mouse, Muse, Metallica and many more musicians. He's one of the most successful composers of all-time, selling over 70 million records and winning dozens of awards. Psycho is available as a limited edition of 3000 individually numbered copies on translucent red vinyl. The package includes a 4-page insert with liner notes written by Claudio Fuiano. With the help of the magical voice of Edda Dell'Orso (Sul Ponte di Istambul) this score follows the steps of the most famous soundtrack composed by the maestro combining melancholic melodies with wild funky tunes, such as the brilliant "Shake del Giudice". End Of The Game (aka Il Giudice e il suo Boia, aka Assassinio sul Ponte, aka Der Richter und Sein Henker) was a 1975 cult noir movie starring the great John Voigt and Jacqueline Bisset. Color vinyl.

I Ladri Della Notte (aka "Les voleurs de la nuit" -- "Thieves After Dark") is a 1984 drama directed by Samuel Fuller and starring Véronique Jannot, Bobby Di Cicco, Victor Lanoux , Stéphane Audran, Camille de Casabianca, Micheline Presle, Claude Chabrol, Samuel Fuller, Samantha Fuller. Ennio Morricone wrote a perfect score to describe all the dramatic loneliness of the two protagonists linked not only by a feeling of love, but also by their criminal acts. Dark and mysterious atmospheres alternate with romantic passages for piano and orchestra, piano and flute with a classic flavor, oriental atmosphere and a dramatic theme with funky bass. Morricone wrote one of his most beautiful themes for this film, a poignant romance of ancient taste for the two lovers. At the time, General Music pressed a 33rpm which contained eleven selections. In 1997, the same material was reissued in Japan for the first time on CD by Soundtrack Listeners Communications Inc., and in Spain in 2002 by Saimel Bandas Sonoras featuring nine additional tracks approved by the composer, alternating with those of the 1984 album. Beat Records now re-release the same expanded material but including first the tracks in the 33rpm sequence followed by the bonus tracks from the stereo session, for a different listening experience. Available packaged in a jewel case with a 12-page booklet. Designed by Daniele De Gemini. Mastering and liner notes by Claudio Fuiano.

Beat Records present the soundtrack for La Chiave, a film by Tinto Brass, presented for the first time on CD from first-generation stereo album master tapes vaulted in Cabum archives in pristine conditions. Music composed, orchestrated, and conducted by Ennio Morricone. La Chiave (aka The Key, La clè, Der Schlüssel) is an erotic movie directed by Tinto Brass in 1983. The story of the film takes place in Venice during the fascist era on the eve of the declaration of the Second World War. It is the story of an elderly English professor, director of the Art Biennale, and his young wife Teresa. In 1983, the Triple Time Music label issued a 33rpm album with ten selections assembled by the composer himself. The same material was reissued on a French 33rpm album and on a German 33rpm album. For this world premiere CD reissue, Beat Records have remastered the first-generation stereo master tapes vaulted in Cabum archives and used for the 1983 Italian vinyl. For Ennio Morricone fans around the world, it'll surely be a welcome addition, especially considering that La Chiave is one of the very few scores by Ennio Morricone that was not yet available in CD format. The album opens with a grotesque slow waltz reprising Strauss's "The Blue Danube Waltz", given a very personal arrangement in "Da Vienna A Vienna (1a versione)" and reprised in "Da Vienna A Vienna (2a versione)", and "Quattro Frammenti Per Orchestra Da Camera". For "Funebre E Pomposo",' the composer has written a very dramatic orchestral piece for a funeral. The classic side of Ennio Morricone is present in "Due Variazioni Da Un Tema Sereno", where the Baroque approach represents Venice. A happy theme with a prominent flute and waltz tempo describes the quieter moments of the plot in "Citazione Da Un Vecchio Valzer", and there's a can-can with funny tonalities typical of the Petri and Tornatore movies in "Mini Can Can Grottesco". A string quartet slowly describes the sensuality of the protagonist in "Tre Frammenti Per Quattro D'archi", and a psychological feeling of sadness and anxiety is evoked by the seemingly quiet piece "Malessere". The piece "Lei Pensata Da Lui", with a Baroque flavor alternating between folk and pop, cheerfully closes the disc. La Chiave is the second release in a series aiming to reevaluate the classic Cabum OST catalog. Graphic design by Claudio Fuiano and Daniele De Gemini. Remastering by Claudio Fuiano.

Digitmovies presents a reissue of Ennio Morricone's soundtrack for Ruba Al Prossimo Tuo, a 1968 film by Francesco "Citto" Maselli. The 1995 GDM Music compilation With Love presented a collection of love themes by Ennio Morricone. One theme, from Ruba Al Prossimo Tuo, was enclosed directly transferred from the music track of the movie itself, but the source was in such terrible conditions that did not make it possible to create a CD master. An expanded suite (from the same disputable source) was later enclosed on a Japanese CD, but unfortunately the sound quality was mediocre. The original master tapes containing the whole original recording session in very good mono sound, have now been discovered. This CD compiles every musical note recorded in 1968. The present version contains only the original music composed by Morricone, conducted perfectly by Bruno Nicolai. Morricone wrote a monothematic score including several orchestral variations of the main theme, a brilliant and very romantic motif with lounge flavor, vocalized by I Cantori Moderni di Alessandroni. Introduced first in "Titoli di Testa" and reprised with several variations throughout the score, the theme is presented in a classic-style version with harpsichord, organ and mandolin, a slow and dreamy version with the voice of Edda and also the choir I Cantori, a samba version, a beat-flavored mysterious version, another version once again with the splendid magical voice of Edda and a slower variation with the whistle of Alessandro Alessandroni. The style of Morricone thus delivers a strongly recognizable second theme, very romantic and lounge-styled, featuring a keyboard used by the author in other scores like Giu La Testa (1971). A classic-style minuet theme with the operatic vocalism of Edda enriches the score. The third theme is a brilliant orchestral samba introduced by a typewriter and developed by the whole orchestra and then reprised with the performance of the wonderful Cantori Moderni. The CD also contains three superb "shake" dance floor music themes that bring us the unforgettable Beat atmospheres of those days' discotheques.

Dagored presents a reissue of Ennio Morricone's soundtrack to Svegliati E Uccidi, originally issued in 1966. This perfect "noir jazz style" soundtrack was composed by maestro Morricone for the Italian crime thriller Svegliati e Uccidi (Too Soon To Die), directed by the well-known Carlo Lizzani (who first gained notoriety working on such Italian neo-realist classics as Roberto Rossellini's Germany Year Zero (1948) and Giuseppe De Santis's Bitter Rice (1949) and starred Robert Hoffman and Gian Maria Volonté. Dark and powerful, this is one of the best of Morricone's crime thriller scores of the period, which should appeal to fans of celebrated scores like Città Violenta (RED 223C-LP, 2015) and Revolver (RED 220-CLP, 2015). Digitmovies release Ennio Morricone's original soundtrack by for the movie Galileo. The eerie and mysterious atmosphere typical of Morricone's style of music is based on careful study and research of earlier music while keeping avant-garde music styles in mind. The author's experimental side emerges powerfully with dissonant horn sections accompanied by a choir. This alternates between chants and the hymn "Eresia Defunta Sia" with the words of the director Liliana Cavani set to delicate music that varies between romantic and mysterious. For this CD Digitmovies used every note recorded on the stereo master tapes of the recording session. The label discovered six previously unreleased tracks approved by the composer himself. The result is a polished tribute to the great musical art of Ennio Morricone and the cinema of Liliana Cavani. Directed in 1968 by Liliana Cavani, Galilei is the story of Galileo Galilei, the Italian physicist who played an important role in the scientific revolution. Galileo Galilei is working at the University of Padova as a physics teacher. In the meantime, the ideas of Giordano Bruno and Copernico's principles on the solar system start to become known and take hold. One day, Galileo receives a rudimentary Holland binocular. He perfects it to the point of being able to see the movement of the stars. Through extensive studies, he begins to understand that the Sun is at the center of the solar system instead of the Earth. He is called to Rome to explain himself and demonstrate his research. Cardinal Bellarmino and the Pope himself ask him to postpone his research because the claims it makes border on heresy. However, he continues his research and even publishes a book. This brings a denunciation that leads to Galileo's arrest and seizure of his works. The scientist is subjected to a series of interrogations before the Inquisition tribunal. Due to fear of torture he signs a solemn recantation of his claims.

2012 release. Digitmovies, with collaboration of Gruppo Sugar, issues Ennio Morricone's complete original soundtrack, in mono, for the 1963 western movie Duello Nel Texas ("Gunfight At The Red Sands"). Directed in 1963 by Ricardo Blasco and starring Richard Harrison, Giacomo Rossi Stuart, and Mikaela. The village of Carteville on the border to Mexico is in danger from a mysterious and dangerous gang of thugs. One night the band assaults the house of a Mexican family, including an orphan of American nationality adopted by Don Diego and known by all as "El Gringo". The gang kills the householder and steals the gold the family has at home. The man eventually discovers the true identity of the criminals. One against all, "El Gringo" succeeds with cunning and courage in liberating the town from the presence of evildoers forever. For this film Ennio Morricone has signed his first western score ever, just one year before the global success of Per Un Pugno Di Dollari (aka "A Fistful of Dollars") by Sergio Leone. Although still far from his musical style which is internationally known for this kind of genre, the then 35 years old Ennio Morricone composed a strong symphonic score featuring the main theme song "A Gringo Like Me" (both the performance of Peter Tevis and the alternate one of Dicky Jones appear here) which gets reprised with exciting instrumental versions, alternated with saloon music, highly dramatic orchestral passages full of tension, music for wild rides, romantic, and epic sequences. Previously only the song performed by the voice of Peter Tevis and a suite of just under five minutes were issued on a C.A.M. compilation. This project has been fully approved by Morricone who with his great friendship helped in the making of a release which is much awaited from all his fans around the world. 180 gram vinyl.

Previously unpublished on vinyl, this is one of legendary composer Ennio Morricone's most uncompromisingly experimental scores, which largely eschews the lounge jazz sounds often associated with the giallo genre in favour of dissonant improvisations, creepy atmospherics, jarring string arrangements and extraordinary vocalisations by Edda Dell'Orso.
