Another solid three track EP from Huxley who enlists the help of Chicago legend Roy Davis Jr. Rag & Bone EP kicks off with "Do You Feel Me" - a track that sees Roy Davis Jr. and Huxley meld moody synths with a tough, rattling low-end. A striking vocal runs over subtle flecks of acid and bending melodies making for a pensive trip before "Weapon" dials Carl Craig-esque tension with rough, tribal drums and razor sharp sweeps. The dub of "Weapon" then mellows the tone of the original.

Huxley follows 2015's 2.0 12" and the 2015 launch of his No Idea's Original imprint with Widow on Will Saul's Aus Music. 2.0 marked a shift in Huxley's production, diverging from his earlier sample-driven work with tougher drums, prominent synths, and tweaky arrangements. Widow continues Huxley's explorations with three tracks that encompass a myriad of influences into refreshingly new shapes while highlighting the producer's love of melody.

Aus Music follows records from Youandewan (AUS 1583EP) and Geeeman (AUS 1582EP) with the return of Saints & Sonnets boss Michael Dodman aka Huxley. Across an acclaimed catalog including releases on Hypercolour, 20:20 Vision, and Tsuba, Huxley has managed to astutely touch on many bases while constantly keeping his output fresh and relevant. Now, six years after his breakthrough 2009 collaboration with Ethyl on Cécille Numbers, he reaffirms his position at the top of the tree with his 2.0 EP: four prime-time cuts bursting with powerful drum work, charming vocal samples, and tape-driven synths all deftly arranged to do serious damage on the floor.

Give 2 U is the second single from Huxley's debut LP Blurred. It features FEMME (Eckoclick with Crewdson) on vocals and Will Saul and Komon on remix duties. For "Give 2 U," Huxley ditches the 4:4 and delves into his rave past with a powerful breakbeat groove that underpins FEMME's stirring vocals alongside gentle, bending melodies. For his "Club Rub," Huxley returns to house, combining guttural, dark garage bass with the original's blissed-out keys and vocals. Aus Music boss Will Saul teams up with Komon for the second remix and delivers a slowly-unfurling and heady percussive cut.

The slick, modern vocal house of "I Want You" is the first single taken from Huxley's debut LP Blurred on Aus/!K7 and it drops, along with remixes from Youandewan and Huxley himself. "I Want You" is the perfect lead-in and it's one of Huxley's deepest cuts to date, with layered melodies, rounded percussion and an incredible vocal. Huxley's powerful "club rub" shifts the focus to the dancefloor a little more. Youandewan takes things deeper with his remix, a blessed-out exercise in smooth musical transitions and subtle dubbing techniques. "Sphere" is characterized by a strident rhythm track and piano licks, but the devil is in the detail.

Marking his return to Aus Music, the seasoned remixer and prolific producer Huxley is likely to turn more heads again as he announces both his EP, The Machine, and his debut album, Blurred. With this EP Huxley takes things another step forward, unquestionably focused on the dancefloor but showing a real range and depth as a producer. With "Callin," co-produced with S-Man (aka Roger Sanchez), we see Huxley in hands-in-the-air festival anthem mode. "Machina" is another prime example of a totally unique sub-heavy Huxley bomb, before we're led into the subtle heater of "Oil Spill," then into the deep early morning groove of final track, "Tendered."

Huxley's rise to the forefront of the UK dance music scene has been an exceptional and speedy process, establishing himself quickly as a figurehead with a foot in both the UK garage and house scenes. This release will tip off a successful year, that has seen the young producer tour around America and host his own Rinse FM show, all while running his ever-dependable Saints & Sonnets imprint. Whether veering towards deeper cuts (alongside Ethyl) on his own label, turning in cast-iron grooves for Tsuba or full vocal barnstormers like "Let It Go" for Hypercolour in early 2012, there's a clearly defined yet versatile sound to Huxley productions that marks him out as a truly talented producer.
