"Delicious Vinyl presents this key material from Jay Dee's output in a never before issued and not to be repeated random colored vinyl assortment. Shortly after Jay Dee's younger brother Illa J's solo debut was issued on Delicious Vinyl, the label and the artist knew the next step in honoring Jay Dee's legacy was to issue the complete instrumentals from Yancey Boys as a stand-alone release. This mother lode of previously untouched (at the time) beats dates as far back as Jay Dee's time working on the Pharcyde's sophomore album, 1995's Labcabincalifornia. As Delicious Vinyl owner Michael Ross explains, 'From '95 through '98 Jay Dee was my go-to guy for hot beats and remixes. He was always making beats, always. So, there was a select amount of tracks that he composed for me during that time, tracks as good as anything he'd done, only they never got used.' Once these beats were used for Illa J's Yancey Boys they were presented to the public on Yancey Boys Instrumentals."

"One can't speak of California's famed desert rock movement without mentioning the visionary producer/musician Chris Goss. The so-called Godfather of the Joshua Tree-centered scene, Goss has produced famed and acclaimed albums by groups like Queens Of The Stone Age, Foo Fighters, Kyuss, Screaming Trees, and numerous others. Before he was known as a renowned producer though, he was the singer/guitarist, and only consistent member of one of the most influential-yet-forgotten hard rock groups of all time: Masters of Reality. Masters Of Reality (whose name was appropriately taken from a Black Sabbath song) had the distinction of being the only group signed to two different hip-hop labels of historical note: Def Jam and Delicious Vinyl. Originally label mates with Public Enemy and Slayer, Masters Of Reality's self-titled debut album was released by Def American in 1988. Two years later, Delicious Vinyl founders Matt Dike and Mike Ross, huge Masters fans, bought the band's contract from Rick Rubin and re-released the album with new cover artwork to renewed acclaim and commercial success. So many years later, Masters Of Reality's debut still feels like a hard-hitting breath of fresh air in a modern landscape of over-produced rock music. It's in this sense of tribute that Delicious Vinyl presents this re-issue of the acclaimed record. The audio has been re-mastered, and its original 'Blue Garden' artwork has been restored, while Rick Rubin's hard rock production chops shine bright, and blare loudly in equal measure, on highlights like the foot-stomping 'John Brown', the frantic live-staple 'Domino', and proto-stoner pieces like 'Doraldina's Prophecies' and 'Kill The King.' Pressed on translucent blue vinyl."

RSD 2017 release. "Frank Nitt and Dankery Harv - or just Frank N Dank - knew J. Dilla before you. But don't feel bad, they knew Dilla before anyone knew Dilla. When Dilla was still in Detroit, before he was known as J Dilla. Before he'd even stepped foot in LA. From their personal vault, Frank N Dank bring you these cuts from their years working with Dilla, including complete instrumentals, presented in a 12" red vinyl pressing."

"The heads have made a demand. The standard vocal version of 'Yancey Boys' is not enough to satisfy their thirst for Jay Dee beats. They said an instrumental version has to be released, and luckily Delicious Vinyl is willing to supply the material to fill this request. John 'Illa J' Yancey, younger brother of late, great genius producer James Yancey (aka Jay Dee, J Dilla), recently released his debut album. Rhyming and singing over a treasure trove of previously untouched Jay Dee gems, the project represents both a full-circle collaboration and a whole new beginning in the story of the musically exceptional Yancey brothers."

"Delicious Vinyl proudly presents one of those Chris Goss productions that should make you feel like you did the first time you heard one of your all time favoritea. Slo Burn's 1996 Amusing the Amazing is now available on 10-inch vinyl (as it was originally presented). If the project is reminiscent of Kyuss, that would have everything to do with John Garcia's vocals throughout this four track outing. Or just maybe it's the fact that Goss was behind the boards for most of Kyuss' legendary releases. Whether it's as the driving force behind Masters of Reality, his contributions to Queens of the Stone Age or as the 'inventor' of desert rock, Chris Goss has made an undeniable mark on the world of rock."

"Delicious Vinyl proudly releases Sunset Blvd., the new album from Yancey Boys, the group piloted by John 'Illa J' Yancey and Frank Nitt. The dynamic new collection is built around previously unheard tracks created by Illa J's brother: the late, great J Dilla (James Yancey). With Frank Nitt's standing as J Dilla music catalog curator and the official approval of Yancey Media Group, all productions on Sunset Blvd. originate from The Lost Scrolls -- the stunning cache of beats Dilla left behind. With its rapturous single 'Quicksand' featuring Common, Sunset Blvd. also teams Yancey Boys with De La Soul's Posdnuos ('Beautiful'), The Pharcyde's SlimKid3 ('Rock My World'), and T3 of Slum Village ('Jeep Volume'), making it clear that the Dilla legacy is being represented by those who knew and collaborated with Dilla in his lifetime. Additional guests include DJs Rhettmatic, C-Minus, and J Rocc (Beat Junkies) as well as rap roughneck Guilty Simpson and R&B strongman Eric Roberson. As a special bonus the CD release contains a second disc featuring the J Dilla instrumentals for the full album."

2019 repress, originally released in 2009. "When John 'Illa J' Yancey, younger brother of late, great genius producer James Yancey (aka Jay Dee, J Dilla), released his debut album fans discovered the younger of the Yancey Boys to be a unique talent in his own right. Rhyming and singing over a treasure trove of previously untouched Jay Dee gems, the project was a full-circle collaboration and a whole new beginning in the story of the musically exceptional Yancey Brothers. But the fans asked for the Jay Dee instrumentals and Illa J and Delicious Vinyl were happy to answer with the release of Yancey Boys Instrumentals. Out of print on LP for years, this piece of Dilla history is once again available in a fresh double vinyl pressing."

2017 repress, black vinyl. "Back in 2008 Delicious Vinyl issued a pairing that was just meant to be with multi-talented Illa J rhyming and singing over a treasure trove of previously untouched Jay Dee gems, a full-circle collaboration and a whole new beginning in the story of the musically exceptional Yancey Brothers. The vinyl on this release will now be available for the first time in years. When Jay Dee passed away from complications relating to lupus in February 2006, he left behind an extraordinary legacy of production work, including hits for Common, Janet Jackson, and Busta Rhymes. In addition to the hits, he left behind a mother lode of previously untouched beats that dates from his time working on the Pharcyde's sophomore album Labcabincalifornia (1995). As Delicious owner and founder Michael Ross explains, 'From '95 through '98 Jay Dee was my go-to guy for hot beats and remixes. He was always making beats, always. So there was a select amount of tracks that he composed for me during that time, tracks as good as anything he'd done, only they never got used. When I finally met Illa J, I gave him a CD containing those unreleased beats.' It was a case of pure serendipity, since 21-year-old Illa J had just relocated to Los Angeles and constructed a studio built around Jay Dee's own recording equipment, dubbing it Yancey Boy Studios in tribute to their fraternal bond."

"Some records are steeped in mythology. Frank N Dank's 48 Hours is just such a recording. Why so few samples from Dilla? Was that MCA's decision as they didn't believe they could get clearances? Why did MCA shelve the recording for so long? Where's the 'original version?' There are nearly more questions about this album than cuts on it. But according to Frank, 'contrary to popular belief there was never an 'original version' of 48 Hours. We started recording songs to sample driven beats of Dilla's and we got 80% of the album done and Dilla decided to change the beats to all the songs."' That's right, it wasn't MCA's legal department, it was Dilla's creative vision that stripped out the samples. But what about the sample laden 'Take Your Clothes Off ' and 'Off Your Chest ' you may ask? Frank interjects, 'those were done after the fact.' And why did MCA shelve the project; was this a label afraid to release what the Detroit trio had concocted? Well that doesn't appear to be the case. According to Nitt turnover in the A&R department at the time was rapid to the point that no one seemed to know who at MCA was responsible for the project. This led to a call to then MCA president Jay Boberg who agreed to release Frank N Dank from their deal. So there you have it. As Freud once said, 'sometimes a cigar is just a cigar.' In the case of 48 Hours, it's one hell of a tasty cigar. 48 Hours is now at last ready for the respect and proper release it has deserved all along, with the complete album as well as a second disc of Dilla's instrumentals included. As Frank reminds us, 'This is the exact version of 48 Hours that we (Frank N Dank and Dilla) turned in to MCA and the way Dilla intended it to be!'"

"Here it is, your first taste of the Lost Scrolls release from J Dilla. The Lost Scrolls are all unreleased Dilla material, which will probably come as a surprise to more than a few people. Not due to the lavish production work -- the beats are prime, vintage Dilla start to finish. What makes Lost Scrolls unique is Dilla on the mic. This special 10" release finds Dilla at home on the verbals just as he was always at home working an MPC."

"The Masta Ace Incorporated line up found on Sittin' on Chrome features the belting R&B vocals of Leschea, Paula Perry, hype-man Lord Digga (who also handled production duties as half of the Bluez Brothas) and, of course, Ace himself (or Ase has he was often called in the INC days). This release went on to be the most commercially successful outing in Masta Ace's career, hitting number 19 on Billboard's Top R&B/Rap Album chart, spawning three hot singles and spending months and months in the Billboard Top 200. Now Sittin' on Chrome gets the deluxe treatment with this triple CD reissue. The first disc features the entire album as originally released, along with a second disc of remixes and B-sides, and a third disc of instrumentals including rare dub style instrumental versions. The fat booklet included in the set is filled with rarely seen photos and graphics, and the entire set is housed in a special box with magnetic clasp that closes with a snap, and holds everything safely in the deluxe box. This high water mark in Masta Ace's career has never been presented with so many extras and so much value to the fans."
