Influential independent label, Posh Boy, helped the southern California punk scene to gain traction in the late '70s and early '80s through a series of releases by then-unknown bands. The legendary 1979 compilation Beach Blvd referenced Route 39, a highway that connected the label's various artists, located in suburbs from Huntingdon Beach up to the San Gabriel Valley. Rosemead's Simpletones were one of the first melodic punk acts; Huntingdon Beach's The Crowd drew from surf rock and hardcore in equal measure, while the material credited to Rik L Rik are actually remixes of demos he cut with Negative Trend, now with bass overdubs by Simpletones guitarist Jay Lansford, who also cut lead guitar on "Atomic Lawn". This ultra-expanded, double vinyl reissue features 17 bonus tracks of Simpletones and The Crowd material, as well as live material from Rik L Rik's first group, the legendary F-Word!, and the two only known tracks recorded by The Klan, the short-lived quartet fronted by Simpletones vocalist, Richard "Snickers" Scott. Includes updated liner notes. Yellow and turquoise vinyl; gatefold sleeve; edition of 700.

During the late 1970s, hardcore punk hit the surfer town of Huntington Beach, southeast of Los Angeles, like a gnarly wave. Shattered Faith are among the most revered of the groups to surface from her shores, co-founder Kerry Martinez and early member Goblin both from the Latino community. This indispensable collection gathers all six tracks from their renowned Poshboy session of 1981 that yielded the classic protest single I Love America/Ronald Reagan, as well as the entire slew of 1979 demos, appearing on vinyl for the very first time. This is So-Cal hardcore at its irresistible best. All tracks remastered by California punk rock mastermind, GEZA X. Comes with folded poster with exclusive Shattered Faith 1982 photos by punk photographer Alison Braun.

Limited restock. The Germs are one of the most legendary and venerated of all Los Angeles hardcore punk bands. The roots of the group stemmed from the meeting of two minds at an alternative school in the late 1970s, when future vocalist Jan Paul Beahm, AKA Darby Crash, met guitarist George Ruthenberg, AKA Pat Smear, the latter a reformed Jesus freak. Spearheading the west coast hardcore scene, the band burst into public consciousness with an explosive performance at The Whisky in 1977 (introduced by future Go Go Belinda Carlisle and KROQ disc jockey Rodney Bingenheimer), with Crash (then known as Bobby Pyn) and Smear joined by bassist Lorna Doom and drummer Donna Rhia, this line-up featuring on debut single, "Forming". Crash's rambling, sneering and often sarcastic vocals were the perfect foil to Smear's superfast thrash-guitar licks, and Smash was a dynamic frontman too, despite his volatile personality. After borrowing Weirdos drummer Nicky Beat for the "Lexicon Devil" single, debut album GI (1979), incongruously produced by Joan Jett of The Runaways, saw the introduction of Arizona-born drummer Nicky Bolles. The band's revered status and early innovation kept them on top of the LA punk scene heap, yet Crash ended up overdosing on heroin in December 1980, his death an apparent suicide. After releasing solo material in the late 1980s, in 1992 Smear was asked to replace John Frusciante in The Red Hot Chili Peppers but opted to join Nirvana instead, his presence there sparking the Germs revival that yielded the outtakes and live rarities set, Cats Clause, which includes rare live material from the Hong Kong Café, as well as material from Crash's final concert at the Starwood in 1980, and more rare material. Limited edition blue vinyl. Gatefold sleeve and printed inner sleeve with rare photos and other memorabilia. Also includes a 60x60cm poster..Licensed from San Juan Music.

Radiation Records present the first vinyl reissue of Mood Of Defiance's Now, originally released in 1982. Southern Los Angeles experimental punk band Mood Of Defiance was formed in Hermosa Beach in 1981, spinning off from a short-lived synthesizer project called Kindled Imagination, formed in nearby San Pedro (home to The Minutemen) with drummer Richie Wilder of Saccharine Trust. Teenaged lead singer and band originator Rachel Morgan, who was known as "Screaming Bitch Rachel" and later, Hatha Watha, formed MOD with Wilder, recruiting initial guitarist TA Black and bassist Kevin Ball from a music press advertisement. Debut demo recordings (eventually issued as In A Box) featured this line-up but after Black and Ball quit the band, they were replaced by Danny Dean Philips and Gary Kail from the band Anti, moonlighting in this side project for debut album Now, released on Philips and Kail's aptly-titled New Underground label in 1982; other band members featured on the disc include drummer Thaddeus. Opener "Divided States Of America" set the disc's defiant punk tone, though "Sticky Lips" and "Girl In A Painting" are less caustic, with broader musical dexterity and post-punk rhythmic references. An important piece of southern California punk history, back on vinyl after 38 years. First 150 copies are individually numbered and on clear vinyl; Includes full reproduction of the three original inserts in a poster insert; Edition of 500.

RSD 2019 release. Destroy All Monsters began life as an experimental rock group in early '70s Ann Arbor, the brainchild of University Of Michigan art school weirdos Mike Kelley, Jim Shaw, and Niagara (Lynn Rovner), and filmmaker Cary Loren. Following many incarnations, lineup changes, and the breakup of Niagara and Loren's romantic relationship, the group solidified in the late '70s around Niagara on vocals, and Detroit legends Michael Davis of The MC5 on bass, and The Stooges' Ron Asheton on guitar. Though they never released a proper album, the group's singles are certified punk classics and the band has since achieved massive cult status, counting Sonic Youth among their legion of fans. Presented here is one of their first three singles. Color vinyl; Editions of 500.

RSD 2019 release. Limited edition splatter vinyl LP, numbered. Sad Lovers And Giants are one of the best-kept secrets of the '80s; chiming guitars meet with atmospheric keyboards, and the haunting, emotive vocals of the enigmatic Garce. The group formed in Watford, England in 1980, and after the release of several singles and two albums, by 1983 they had disbanded, to be mostly forgotten to the record store bins of yore. But the years have been very kind to Sad Lovers And Giants and their particular brand of pastoral post-punk and wave has grown in stature to the point that original LPs fetch collectors sums. Doing its part to solve this problem is this wonderful numbered limited-edition splatter vinyl reissue from Radiation Reissues for RSD 2019. Includes six bonus tracks from early singles.

"Sad Lovers And Giants' first full album, a brilliant atmospheric post punk album, elements of Joy Division and The Chameleons and more tellingly of bands that followed. Recorded in 1983, Feeding The Flame showcases the original line up at their very best. Featuring the bonus track 'Close To The Sea.' Innersleeve with lyrics."
