"The second studio album by the influential music band Tangerine Dream Alpha Centauri is the milestone of the psychedelic era. Originally recorded in 1970 this album is an extraordinary trip into a dark sonic universe, where the overall quality has little in common with the luminescence recalled by its title. Clear vinyl, 180 gram."

"Electronic Meditation is the first album by Tangerine Dream, and the only one to feature the line-up of Edgar Froese, Conrad Schnitzler and Klaus Schulze. The album was recorded entirely inside an abandoned factory in Berlin in October 1969 and fuses together different styles from jazz to experimental rock. Amongst the electronics conceived by Edgar Froese himself, the group also employs more traditional instruments like guitars and organs, drum and cello. Orange vinyl 180 gram. HQ 45RPM audiophile edition, limited edition of 500 copies."

Cassette reissue of Tangerine Dream's Electronic Meditation, originally released in 1970. First major release and first studio album by German electronic music group Tangerine Dream. Recorded in a rented factory in Berlin in October 1969, using just a two-track recorder. As described back then by Sound magazine "free electronic rock", it features conventional instruments such as guitar, organ, drums, custom-made and found sound such as such broken glass, burning parchment, and dried peas being shaken in a sieve. An all-time milestone in music history.

"Esoteric Recordings' Reactive label is proud to announce the release of the second volume of an official bootleg series by the legendary Tangerine Dream. Formed in Berlin in September 1967 by Edgar Froese, Tangerine Dream are simply one of the most important groups to have emerged on the German music scene of the late 1960s/early 1970s. Always guided by the genius of Edgar Froese, Tangerine Dream developed a sound based on the use of synthesizers and keyboards. In Britain, John Peel soon began to promote the band on his influential radio show which ultimately led to Tangerine Dream becoming one of the first acts to sign to Richard Branson's newly established Virgin label in 1973. Tangerine Dream's music would influence a whole host of musicians who followed in their wake, such as Julian Cope. Featuring recordings made at the Palais des Congres, Paris in March 1978 and at the Palast der Republik, East Berlin in January 1980, this four-CD set has been compiled with the official approval of Tangerine Dream and features two concerts that were voted as some of the finest bootlegs in existence in a recent poll of fans. The concert in Paris from March 1978 is a rare live recording of the short-lived line-up of the band that featured Edgar Froese, Chris Franke, Steve Joliffe and drummer Klaus Krieger. The concert at the Palast der Republik in East Berlin featured a line-up of Edgar Froese, Chris Franke and Johannes Schmoelling and this recording is the full un-edited performance of a concert from which sections formed the basis of the albums Quichotte and Pergamon (Quichotte), released in 1980 and 1986 respectively and is another fine example of the excellence of this incarnation of Tangerine Dream on stage. This official four-CD clamshell boxed set has been re-mastered from the best available sources and includes an illustrated booklet with an informative essay."

"Esoteric Recordings are pleased to announce the re-press of Tangerine Dream's classic live album Pergamon. Recorded in January 1980 at the Palast der Republik, East Berlin, the album was originally released in East Germany in 1981 under the title Quichotte. The documented performance was one of the first by a western band in East Germany and earned Tangerine Dream many new fans in Eastern Europe. Featuring a line-up of Edgar Froese, Chris Franke and newly recruited member Johannes Schmoelling, the album was later released outside of East Germany under the title Pergamon (after the impressive museum in East Berlin). This Esoteric Reactive edition features the original album artwork and includes a lavishly illustrated booklet and essay."

"In their imperial years of the 1970s, Tangerine Dream's live concerts were an electronic exploration, improvised and different every night, with little or no relationship to their smash hit albums, which were similarly esoteric. As the 1980s dawned, their recorded work contained more recognisable themes and they scored some of the biggest films of the decade (Risky Business, Firestarter, Near Dark, Thief, Sorcerer). Now, they are returning in part to those pioneering days, and every show includes a section of improvisation, different every night. The best improvisations are being released as Sessions, and Invisible Hands Music is proud to release them out on deluxe double CD mastered at Abbey Road by Miles Showell. An important band at the peak of their powers and a treat for fans of electronic music."

"Esoteric Recordings' Reactive label is pleased to announce the release of a newly re-mastered 4 CD clamshell boxed set which gathers together the first four legendary albums by Tangerine Dream, originally released on the Ohr label in Germany between 1970 and 1973, known by fans as 'The Pink Years' albums. Electronic Meditation was recorded in Berlin in October 1969 and featured the first Tangerine Dream line-up of Edgar Froese (guitars, organ, tapes, sound effects), Klaus Schulze (drums, percussion) and Conrad Schnitzler (cello, violin, typewriter). Upon its release in 1970 the album would define a genre of music and herald the massive creative musical explosion that would emerge in Germany in the early 1970s. Alpha Centauri was recorded at the Dierks studio in Stommeln and featured a line-up of Edgar Froese, Chris Franke and Steve Schroyder with guests Udo Dennebourg (flute) and Roland Pualyck (synthesiser). Released in 1971 the influence of the album was immense, with the band creating imaginative soundscapes previously unheard on record. Zeit, released in August 1972, a double album with one lengthy track per side, was recorded at the Dierks studio once again and featured a guest appearance by Florian Fricke of another legendary ambient German group, Popol Vuh. One of Tangerine Dream's finest early albums, Zeit was enthusiastically championed in the UK by DJ John Peel and was the group's major breakthrough. Atem, released in 1973, was the band's last release on the Ohr label & heralded the beginning of Tangerine Dream's wider international acclaim. Atem enjoyed success outside of Germany and eventually led to the group signing to the newly formed Virgin label later in 1973. This clamshell box of The Pink Years Albums 1970 - 1973 features Electronic Meditation, Alpha Centauri, Zeit, and Atem packaged in replica card sleeves and also includes a poster."

2014 release. Highly influenced by artists like Salvador Dalì, Tangerine Dream began life as a kind of surrealism in music. After having sold off all of their "traditional" music equipment, the Berlin-based band began using strictly electronic devices like synthesizers, sequencers, mellotron, moog and other self-built toys. These rare recordings trace the band from this initial experimental period (1972), through to its commercial success with Virgin later on in the decade.
