Following two acclaimed first editions, Stix Records presents the third volume of its Disco Reggae compilation series. Like the previous one, the nine-track compilation is made both from productions of home labels, now sold-out as vinyl, and from brand new, exclusive music, by the likes of Taggy Matcher, Mato, and newcomer Rosemary Martins, taking over classics titles from Donna Summer, Stephen Encinas, Roberta Flack, Herbie Hancock, Steve Parks, or Inner City. The perfect summer soundtrack. Also features: 7 Samuraï, The Dynamics, and Lucas Arruda.

Thomas Blanchot, percussionist and drummer, started his production structure Mato Production in 2001, where he collaborated and directed for many projects. Composer, music publisher and producer of music for TV, advertising, films and records, he also began a career as reggae producer since 2006, under the name Mato. Since then he's released music through various projects concepts, coming out through labels such as Makasound, EDR Records or Big Singles. In the meantime he developed a real trademark: taking over classics in French, hip-hop, or pop songs, and creating roots reggae-dub versions. Since 2010, Mato has built a solid reputation thanks to his hot remixes of hip-hop classics on Stix Records. In 2014, he presented Homework Dub, giving his own vision of the multiplatinum classic album by Daft Punk, quickly acclaimed internationally as a true performance. Mato is back with another target for his special skills as a tailor of reggae music, this time focusing on classic musical themes from original soundtracks. Imagine if Lalo Schifrin, Nino Rota, Giorgio Moroder, Ennio Morricone or John Williams had been blunted at Lee "Scratch" Perry's Black Ark studio - There you go, this is Hollywoo Dub!

Percussionist, composer, and producer Thomas Blanchot began a career as reggae producer in 2006 under the Mato alias. Since then he's released on labels including Makasound, EDR, Big Single, and Stix, developing his trademark of turning hip-hop and pop classics into roots reggae dubs. His 2014 Homework Dub album (STIX 039LP), which presented his vision of Daft Punk's classic 1997 album, won international acclaim. Here, Mato returns with renditions two film soundtrack pieces -- the amazing "'T' Stands For Trouble" by Marvin Gaye and "Enter The Dragon" by legendary composer Lalo Schifrin -- in advance of his 2016 album Hollywoo Dub.

French reggae producer Mato is back with two new killer remixes. The Mato's touch: remixing the biggest hip-hop, R&B and pop tunes with choice reggae backing tracks. As usual, he's blended each track to perfection, ready to rock any party. On this new 7", Mato surprises us with a special pop-oriented package. First he gives a spicy reggae tribute to the late "King of Pop" with a shiny remix of his unhidden single, "Love Never Felt So Good." On the back side, he takes over "All About That Bass" by teen favorite Meghan Trainor. The perfect sound of original reggae, ready to hit the dancefloors again.

Bruno "Patchworks" Hovart is a name to remember when it comes to modern groove music. Since 2007, just following the international success of The Dynamics first album Version Excursions, Patchworks also started to hide under his Taggy Matcher alias, releasing fine reggae remixes of classics hip-hop songs for Stix Records, a subdivision of Favorite Recordings. Taggy Matcher now presents "My Man" alongside another surprising great songstress from Lyon, LMK. On this new track, Taggy digs more into the digital reggae from the early '80s, showing another side of his production scale.

It is therefore natural to find him back with a new concept on the Favorite Recordings' sub-label: seasoning the notorious Homework album by Daft Punk with his special reggae-dub sauce. Once again, Mato achieves a brilliant rendition with Homework Dub, almost making dreadlocks grow out of the French robots' heads. Using kick-effects, delays and roaring bass, he reinvents one of the most famous albums of electronic music as if it were straight out of Scientist, King Tubby or Mad Professor's studios in Jamaica.

Stix Records is a sub-division of Favorite Recordings specializing in the exercise of producing covers with a reggae twist. Acclaimed in 2013 with a first official single by Taggy Matcher & Birdy & Nixon, quickly followed by the first volume of the Disco Reggae (STIX 035LP) compilation, Stix is back in 2014 with a scorching Disco Reggae Volume 2. Following the success of its first volume, the Disco Reggae series also expands with this nine-track compilation, composed with eight new and exclusive versions by artists such as Taggy Matcher, 7 Samuraï, Mato, and John Milk, and the classic cover of "Tainted Love" by Grandmagneto. But this time, while they still explored famous hits like "Watermelon Man" by Herbie Hancock or "Happy" by Pharrell Williams, they also dug within the home label's catalog, taking over some of the finest titles by Mr. Day, Lee McDonald, Lucas Arruda and The Joubert Singers. Once again, their swaying renditions seem straight out of the smoky studios of Kingston or Montego Bay, while also remembering the '80s pop-reggae sound of artists like Grace Jones or the less-famous Earons. Everything was mastered and cut at Carvery Records (UK), known for their expertise in Caribbean and disco music.

Stix Records is a sub-division of Favorite Recordings, launched with the first official single by Taggy Matcher & Birdy & Nixon, who pleased us with two reggae-rocksteady renditions of songs by the famous Black Keys. Specializing in the exercise of producing covers with a reggae twist, the new label presents their first album, Disco Reggae. Many artists faithful to the stable of Favorite Recordings and its various sub-labels were invited for the occasion: The Dynamics, Blundetto, Grandmagneto, 7 Samurai, John Milk, and Taggy Matcher. All came and brought their respective touch to this first compilation, with, among other things, some of the rarest titles from their Big Single Records' years, but also four new and exclusive productions. Each of them delivers a great disco-reggae version of classic hits by artists as diverse as Madonna, Herbie Hancock, Justin Timberlake, The Commodores, The O'Jays, Curtis Mayfield, Harry Nilsson, and Sugarhill Gang. Whatever the genre or the period, nothing can resist their inventiveness and creativity, and sometimes their work can be confused as total originals. Everything was remastered and cut at Carvery Records (UK), known for their expertise in Caribbean and disco music. The vinyl LP comes in a deluxe version, housed in an old-school tip-on jacket.
